there's a sunken village
at the bottom of the lake
everyone had to leave
nobody could stay
when they built a big dam
and flooded the valley
power and water
for the big city
now seaweed grows
in the streets of my childhood
carps and eels live in my old classroom
the desk has rotten
where i carved in my name
and the bell in the churchtower
will never ring again
sometimes we come here
on a weekend
we bring bathing towels
and sunmilk
i tried to dive down
but the water's too deep
anyway down there it's too dark to see
all the neighbours recieved compensation
and built new homes in different locations
everyone left at least that's
what they say
and all what happened
will stay down there
